 ☐  Classrooms
Academic room assignments are designated by either your department or the Registrar’s office. Visit Classroom Technology page:

 ☐ Learning Management System

OAKS is the College’s learning management system and is built on the Desire2Learn/Brightspace platform.  The online course environment provides tools that help foster collaboration and communication, and facilitate learning outside the classroom.

To access OAKS go to my.cofc.edu>log in with your CofC Email Address and your Cougars password. click on the OAKS icon in the upper right.

 ☐  Software
Some of CofC campuswide software licenses are:

  • Akindi – pring and scan your bubble sheets from any multifunction printer/scanner and have the scores submitted automatically to OAKS’ gradebook.
  • Google Apps for Education – full range of applications available to both students and faculty that  includes Calendar, Drive, forms for surveys, website and blog creation.
  • Kaltura -YouTube-like online media area available to both students and faculty.  Upload tutorials, online lectures, original work or create screen casts.
  • PollEverywhere – on-line based audience response system, similar to clickers.
  • Turnitin – check written assignments for plagiarism from public online sources as well as its own database of student work. It also checks for spelling and grammar mistakes.
  • Turnitin PeerMark – create and manage PeerMark assignments that allow students to read, review, and evaluate one or many papers submitted by their classmates.
  • Voicethread– online media album available to both students and faculty that allows people to comment on slides using voice, text, audio or video.

IT offers two blogging platforms, Blogger (part of Google apps)  and WordPress.  Faculty can request a WordPress blog by contacting Helpdesk  For more information visit IT web services.
